Looking back

Always something new to see here in Corning NY. Same shots, new seasons, different times of day, so many things can effect one little view.

I worried when I first started this blog, almost a year ago, that I wouldn't be able to come up with enough pictures. Now I find that I can't keep up with the pictures. I have hundreds stockpiled and take more every day.

Motorcycle Pride Ride

Hundreds of motorcycle riders converged on Corning around 4 PM this afternoon for a short break in Wegmans parking lot.

These generous and caring motorcyclists were participating in the Pride Ride, a benefit event for the Children’s Miracle Network.

They came bearing gifts, Christmas gifts for children in this area...

It's been a long time since I've been to the stock car races, but as they revved their engines and crossed the Bridge Street bridge, it felt like I was back at Woodhull or Dundee...

Next stop ~ Elmira-Corning Regional Airport for supper, music and fireworks.

Ice Cream!

Corning has a few great places to indulge in the cold, sweet flavors of ice cream...

Randy Stanton has spent years making homemade ice cream at Hokey Pokey. I had the pleasure of watching him create Mint Chocolate Chip and one other flavor, I think it was Black Raspberry. Where else in this area can you find homemade ice cream!

Moving on to Market Street, where we find "the charming ambience of a Victorian ice cream parlor"...

Another sunset walk

Another evening walk provided interesting photographs and lighting. Also, another great night's sleep.

At the beginning of my walk, crossing the Bridge Street bridge, I ended up in conversation with a photographer from Philadelphia.

Several other photographers were taking photos of the sunset above the river.

Now I'm off to take pictures of ice cream being made at Hokey Pokey...
