March
“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.” (John Steinbeck)

July 19, 2011 ~ Beautiful trees on either side of the Chemung River.
September 13, 2012 ~ The same trees on the south side of the river.
December 19, 2012 ~ Those same willow trees.
Same scene. Something’s missing. Where, oh, where, have the willow trees gone?! Plus there’s only two trees left across the river.
I’ve been told the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) maintains both sides of the river (mowing, etc). I wonder why they cut down these beautiful trees?

Thanks, CCU, the footsteps photo was one of my favorites, too.
DeleteThanks for your pictures of Corning. I love this town. Could you tell me where the second picture was taken? (The one with the guy running between buildings.) Assume this is part of the Corning Glass complex. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteOn the left is the rear view of the Radisson Inn and on the right is the other part of their building across the walkway. To my direct right would be a medical supply store in that same building. Straight ahead is the west end of Market Street. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.
DeleteI love the foot steps in the snow...It really goes along with your theme..step by step... Love coming over to visit your other passion of photography and travel. Thanks again for trying my Bobotie, it is really a nice warming dish for cold winter days like this one. Sending warm thoughts your way. BAM
ReplyDeleteThanks BAM. Glad you stopped by. Does this mean you're finally feeling better?
DeleteI love trees. Maybe that's why I live in Boise-City of trees-. Nice images of those willows over the past few years.
ReplyDeleteAlso Kathleen, don't know if you are aware..your link: Join me at my other blog where I create in the kitchen, is not functioning. You can't click on it to take you to your other blog. :)
Thanks for sharing your beautiful images of nature from your part of the woods!! :)

Randall, Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoy my photos of Corning.
DeleteThanks, too, for making me aware of the link problem. I moved it recently and must have lost the connection then. It's fixed now so that you can click on the photo and be taken to Step By Step In the Kitchen.
