Arts In Bloom Weekend

Before setting out this morning, I wanted to get photos of this pontoon getting a Saturday morning shower. Kudos to the truck driver for a job well done, backing that huge boat into the wash bay.

Spring is officially here, not just because the calendar says so, but because the forsythia is blooming! Why are so many spring flowers yellow? Little Joe Tower, blue skies, sunshine, the slightest of breezes -- an all-round beautiful day.

  1. You have a good eye for what photos to take Kathleen. Such as the truck, his boat and the car wash. The cat resting at Home Again Consignment.

My forsythia bush was at its peck 2 weeks ago.

Here are some links to answer your question about why so many Spring flowers are yellow.

Basically, as I have read..to bees and butterflies and any pollinator in nature yellow attracts. Gets them going. :)

The funny thing about the question is...I have loved gardening all my life and never noticed till now after your question, that it is true most Spring flowers are yellow.

    1. Thanks for the two links related to my question on why so many spring flowers are yellow. Here's another one for you, Randall. Years ago, when I lived in the country, I noticed that "roadkill" went in batches, too. I'd see woodchucks for a while, then skunks, then raccoons (not necessary in that order). Wonder why that is.

    2. I don't know about that one Kathleen. Where I lived in Mexico it was rabbits. Here in Boise it's squirrels and at times ducks or geese.
