Friday the 13th ~ December 2013

Mixing and matching again. Still on vacation and brought this collection of photos with me to post. Several from one year ago. The rest from October to December of this year. I love the colors of the fall leaves. They seemed to me to have changed so fast this year.

A dog walking its owner along the dike. Southside hill in the background.

Park at the end of Hillvue Drive. I wonder how many people know it’s there.

Fall leaves in the park.

Can never have too many pictures of Little Joe and the Bridge Street bridge.

Renovations started on Bridge Street buildings in late October. Can’t wait to see what changes have be made by the time I return.

Walking through Riverfront Park, just off Centerway Square.

Last afternoon sky over Corning NY.

I hear it’s quite cold in Corning right now. Still, I’m looking forward to being home (even if it is 10-15 degrees warmer here in Maryland!).

FALL IN CORNING

It was the little things that caught my eye in a recent walk around Corning.

Wrought iron benches and chairs...

Leaves on a railroad track...

The sunshine bouncing off the Chemung River...

Corning Painted Post East High School backed by fall colors on a hill...

A Canadian tour bus in town on our Columbus Day and their Thanksgiving...

Mushrooms, or are they toadstools. Whichever, don't eat them...

A lone leaf...

Pigeons headed out...

FALL LEAVES AND OTHER SIGHTINGS

It's photos like this one that make me wish I had a classier camera with special lenses. But, for a small, inexpensive digital that I just point and shoot, it does a fairly good job. Remember, you can click on any photo to see an enlarged version.

Do you see what I see? Intentional or accidental?

Poor old building had an underlying bit of class and I thought the sepia effect would bring out its best...

The cross just called for the antique effect...

We live in America, land of the free, yet this is a murky topic with blurred edges...

Stroll into Autumn

A lovely morning for a Sunday walk. In spite of the cool, late-summer air, the sun was shining and casting beautiful contrasts of light and shadow.

Autumn officially starts this coming Friday and we're already transitioning from Summer to Winter.

Looking in all directions, I could see the leaves starting to change. This will be the week to take pictures of foliage.
