Corning's Bridge Street bridge

Bridge Street, another important part of Corning's Gaffer District, starts at Denison Parkway on the south side and heads north across the Chemung River.

You can turn right almost immediately onto Market Street or left into the parking lot of a Corning favorite.

On your left, just before stepping onto the bridge, stands a memorial sign. Years ago this residential area was wiped out in the 1972 flood.

Now drive or walk across the Bridge Street bridge and you'll end up on Corning's north side which consists of a few business blocks, then a long residential stretch.

Today I'm going to focus on the bridge itself and some photos taken from the bridge. I'll follow up in later posts with north Bridge Street.

January 11... Looking through my photo collection again this morning, I came across these winter shots and decided to add them.
