The Alternative School for Math and Science

The flyer read, “Are you a senior citizen? Do you enjoy children? The Alternative School for Math and Science robotics team needs your help!”

I couldn’t resist, so a friend and I rode the bus and walked, arriving just in time for the 12:30 PM offering. A good turnout and credible presentations by four groups of 7th and 8th grade students on problems faced by senior citizens.

We also were treated to a brief tour of the new addition to the school.

I walked home along Market Street...

Traces of Halloween...

Burger King is getting a facelift, but the drive-thru is still open...

At the west end of Market Street, where is meets Bridge Street, I noticed that the Christmas snowflakes are already up and Little Joe continues to tower over downtown Corning.

It was after 3 PM and I hadn’t had lunch, so I stopped at Wegmans for coffee and a ham & cheese wrap.

This little pup greeted me as I exited through the parking lot...

  1. While I myself detest all maths, I must admit this is a beautiful school :)

    1. They have such fun at this school. I'll bet even you would like math if you attended there!

    1. The part I showed was a huge new addition. The old section of the school was a school many, many years ago. It was a wonderful day and thanks for coming along with me, Sally.
