Roaming around Corning

More photos taken with my iPad Mini. The first two and the last photo were taken using the Hipstamatic App. Also, on the last photo, I used my iPhoto editing capabilities and changed the coloring to sepia.

The first photo, above, is yet another shot of the Benjamin Patterson Inn on Pulteney Street. I never tire of taking photos there and when my son is next in town, I plan to drag him there to join me (and further instruct me) in taking photos of the inn, the log cabin and other areas of the property with Hipstamatic (which he has on his iPhone).

East Market Street used to continue on past Wall Street. Now it stops there and can be continued on foot or, as in this case, on bicycles, past the Radisson Hotel, the Social Security Offices, the Southeast Steuben County Library and the city skating rink.

Delicate little roses outside the Radisson...

Facing west you can see the corner of Wall and Market Streets...

There's been a barber shop on Market Street in this spot for a long, long time. Reasonable prices and friendly banter. Like many other establishments on the street, they offer free access to their WiFi. I given you a link that will give you a bit of history on the shop.

  2. It sounds you had a great day roaming around Corning and took sweet pictures that speak a lot of things to me. I love the last photo of that youngster having his hairs cut with his half desert-like head. Did you ask who he was? Thank you for sharing them with me, Kathleen.

    1. You're funny, Muhammad. That "youngster" is middle-aged and, yes, I know him (and his "desert-like head"!). He, Matt the barber, and I all have iPads, and we were having a great time exchanging information about their uses.

    2. He he he, that is interesting. It is always nice to stop and chat for a moment during roaming around. Just what I usually do when I met people around the places I visit. great day

    1. Daniela, thank you for your kind words. Do you have an iPad or a mini? This mini appears to have a great stabilizer and I find it take better (much less blurry) pics than my cameras.
