Amazing Days

Tuesday was one of those amazing days where things initially seemed to go wrong, but actually led to other things that were oh-so-right!

At 10:00 AM I was Johnny-on-the-Spot at the Corning Senior Center to check out a new walking group. I was dressed for exercise, and my face and body were misted with sunscreen.

Surprise, surprise, I was day early. Why waste all that preparation? Without another thought, I headed out for a walk on my own on Corning’s Northside. Lots of little side streets with big shady trees--ideal for my preferences.

I have two favorite gardens on the Northside. Stopped to take photos at one and the owner came out to say hello and invite me to sit on her deck and visit. (Note: the first four photos spotlight her garden)

That pleasant stop set the tone for the rest of the day.

The first thing that caught my eye at this next house was the cozy, comfortable seating arrangement on the porch.

In case you’re wondering, I did return to the Senior Center the next day and joined in on this week’s walk. I don’t usually walk with other people, but decided it would be a good idea once in a while.

What was so great about the rest of the day? My daughter and two grands (5 & 9) came for lunch. The older boy and I made pancakes with all kinds of goodies added - Chocolate Chips, PB & Jelly, Corn, Veggie Bacon, Blueberries. In the evening, I attended a potluck gathering on the Southside, where I learned lots more about the presidential political scene and met the most interesting people.

Everyone deserves to have amazing days.
